Indian Domaining – A Great Investment Opportunity

INForumI’m proud to announce that I’ve recently acquired the leading domain forum for Indian domains – INForum.

INForum is the place on the internet to discuss Indian domains, their future and their development. You can get your Indian domains appraised, and there is also a marketplace where you can buy and sell your Indian domains. You can also discuss anything related to India’s technology revolution or the internet in India. The forum also has a blog, on which I’ll post news relating to these topics.

I think for newer domainers with limited budgets, one of the best investments you can make is in up and coming ccTLDs, and .in and .co.in are two of the most promising ones. Here are some reasons why Indian domains present a great investment opportunity:

1. At this point in time, only a small percentage of the population has broadband connection. But this number is increasing incredibly rapidly, which should translate into rapid increases in domain values.

2. The population of India is over 1 Billion, which shows just how much potential there is in .co.in and .in domains.

3. You can still make money on new registrations. A “reg fee punt” has a lot more meaning and potential.

4. There is a lot of potential for IDNs in this market – popular languages include Hindi, Urdu, Bangla, Punjabi, Marathi, Tamil.

5. Indian domains actually get type in traffic, often in surprisingly large quantities.

So, if you have any interest in Indian domains, or just want to learn more, please drop by at INForum and introduce yourself. I look forward to talking domains with you!

Great going Jeff. I’ll post about this soon. The .in scene is one I’m really interested in but haven’t got the time to explore so far.

By the way, I disagree with you about the IDN’s as most people in India use a standard “QWERT” keyboard and this almost makes IDNs obsolete.
